Our take:
We love Rod. He has written indie film reviews for us before, and he always has fabulous insights to share. His podcast reviews are quick, to the point, and tantalizing enough to lead you down into the black hole of watching indie genre films online.

Our take:
If you want to stay up-to-speed on what’s new in SFF fiction in all its forms, Geek’s Guide is a must-listen. Episodes often feature a panel of guests to weigh in on the topic of the day. You never know who’ll show up. But you always know it will be intriguing.
How Sci Fi Saves the WorldOfficial description:

Our take:
Full disclosure here — this is Recursor’s sister podcast, hosted by our fearless leader E.J. Kavounas and his pal, entertainment strategist Eric Mark. But the real reason we love it is not our personal tie, but our appreciation for how this podcast is unique. Their insider takes on Hollywood, meshed with their love of sci-fi, makes for interesting listening, especially since many other film-related podcasts are hosted by fans, not film industry insiders.

Our take:
Episodes of Nerdette are short (30 minutes or less, normally), yet loaded with info, which is a boon for busy people who want quick, consumable media. And the topics range broadly, from summer reads to the Argonne National Laboratory, a research facility in Chicago, and more. There’s plenty to choose to listen to, in conveniently sized listening chunks.

Our take:
Host Anton Strout does what authors do best when talking with other authors — he delves into what goes on in the mind of the writer as they write. And then he geeks out with his guests about whatever it is they both love. Isn’t that what happens at just about any event where geeks get together? It’s so fun to listen in.
The Skiffy and Fanty ShowOfficial description:
The Skiffy and Fanty Full Experience is a Hugo-nominated science fiction, fantasy, and horror podcast featuring nearly a dozen shows. From drunken reviews of bad movies, discussions of new and classic SFF film and TV, interviews with authors, book club conversations, and much (much) more, the Full Experience gives you everything in one convenient place.
Our take:
This is pretty much exactly what it sounds like — lots of takes on SFF from people who love the genre. You can download just the shows that fit your liking, or subscribe to the Full Experience, which downloads everything Skiffy and Fanty does. It’s a great hodgepodge of all things SFF, kind of like visiting a con by radio.

Our take:
Host Summer Brooks does a stellar job of sussing out SFF/horror people to talk with, from top stars and insiders to indie creators. Listening to this podcast is a great way to stay on top of what’s happening in sci-fi and find new fiction to consume, cons to attend, and more.
