Ready for some fabulous, independent sci-fi to kick off your weekend? You’re in luck, because the Berlin SF Filmfest is happening live this weekend, November 5-6, 2021 in Germany—but it’s also viewable worldwide on XERB.TV November 5-14. So there’s no reason, and no excuse, to miss some fantastic, indie science fiction films.
Now in its fifth year, the Berlin SF FilmFest is the first genre-specific SF film festival in Germany. Their aim: to provide a platform for indie sci-fi filmmakers to present their work on the big screen and to a live audience. And they do this in the gorgeous, unique, world-famous Berlin theater—The Babylon, where the iconic 1927 film Metropolis had its first screening. History and future go hand-in-hand there, a perfect place for a sci-fi fest.
By providing live screenings as well as virtual viewings on XERB.TV, the Berlin SF FilmFest makes it easy for attendees to participate in the way that works best for them. And this year’s selections provide a wonderful mix, everything from documentaries to animation to the best in drama and action. Fans won’t be disappointed.
In addition to seeing films, attendees can meet the Berlin Sci-Fi team on Tuesday, November 9 (19:00pm CET / 13:00pm Eastern / 10am Pacific). There’s also a Festival Round-Up scheduled to happen online via JIT.SI on Saturday, November 13 (19:00pm CET / 13:00pm Eastern / 10am Pacific).
Films will screen live at the Babylon Cinema Berlin on November 5-6, and virtual screenings are viewable online at XERB.TV from November 5-14. Festival passes range from 8 euros for a single session to 40 euros for a full weekend pass. To learn more or purchase your passes, visit:
