The Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society (LASFS) is the world’s oldest continuously active science fiction and fantasy club, and has gaveled to order a meeting of the membership every single Thursday night, without fail, since the club’s founding on Oct. 27, 1934. And this year once again, LASFS will present the 47th annual Loscon — Los Angeles’ longest running fan convention — over Thanksgiving weekend (November 26–28, 2021). Science fiction has an innate ability to address current philosophical, scientific, and political ideas.
