Comic con fans and Stan Lee devotees, you’re going to love this! Recursor.TV attended L.A. Comic Con on October 30th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and we’ve got exclusive photos and video. This year marks the sixth annual gathering of the event branded as Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con. And as you’d expect, The Man Himself was in attendance with a line of fans around the giant hall waiting for an autograph. Although much closer to Hollywood geographically, L.A. Comic Con is much smaller and less feature and television.

WORLD BUILDER: The Sci-Fi Inspiration Behind the Films of Raphael Rogers

What is it that draws someone to making independent science fiction films? Despite declines in the cost of powerful filmmaking tools, creating a visual effects work of art is still time consuming and energy demanding. So, how does an artist commit to actually making good sci-fi on a tiny budget and with a small, perhaps even a one-man crew? That’s the question we posed to one of Recursor’s featured directors, Raphael Rogers, creator of Beyond and Immersion, as he recently shared his thoughts on indie sci-fi. Recursor: Hi, Raphael..

Couch Potato VR: The Not-So-Active Wave of the Future?

Sorry, all you Trinity and Molly Millions wannabes, but we have good news, bad news for the future of virtual reality. The next “baby step” toward the cyberpunk dream of wetware is launching this week. Unfortunately, it involves no steps at all but lots of sitting, apparently. At least, that’s the verdict from the New York Times review of the Sony Playstation VR headset, which hit shelves on October 13. It’s one of the latest VR options for gamers out in the wild, and while it promises to integrate.

Honey, I Shrunk the Drug-Delivery System

Remember the classic 1966 film Fantastic Voyage, the Jules Verne-style adventure featuring a hotshot crew of doctors and government agents who shrink to microscopic size to treat a blood clot in an important scientist’s brain? It’s not exactly fiction anymore. Now, we’re not zapping shrink rays in the ER…just yet. But a recent breakthrough in medical research has made it possible to deliver medical drugs to specific parts of the body with miniaturized nanotechnology, a promising method to treat the diseases of today and tomorrow. (Details were published in the journal Nano Small Micro on September 7, 2016.) The nanorobot, developed by researchers at.

On October 16, 2016, Recursor.TV caught a glimpse of the automotive future on the last day of the BMW Vision Next 100 global tour, which previously visited Munich and London before ending in Los Angeles this past weekend and packing up the tent. Of course, there was a lot of auto eye candy to make car lovers and tech lovers drool, including a Rolls Royce which looked more like Art Deco furniture than a car. (Check out our exclusive photos, and try not to be too jealous that you.

Need a Film Trailer Fast? Ask Watson to Do It

No, not Sherlock Holmes’ buddy, and not James D. Watson either. We’re talking about IBM Watson, the supercomputer that is so hip, it blew away closet geniuses on Jeopardy!, and so brilliant it helped diagnose cancer patients. IBM’s favorite supercomputer also reads prolifically and has even extended its circuits into the realm of gourmet cooking. (It’s single too, ladies and gents!) So it’s no surprise Watson is dipping its software into Hollywood by making a film trailer to promote 20th Century Fox’s 2016 recent sci-fi thriller, Morgan. The film.

The Red Planet Awaits. Will America Come Knocking?

We might see manned trips to the red planet in our lifetimes. Last week, President Obama called for the U.S. to get its astronauts to Mars and back within the next 15-20 years. It’s the same vision he laid out in 2010. But this time, it comes with promising plans. NASA has contracted with six companies to create long-term habitats that could sustain human life during a long-term mission to Mars. Sciencing the &#*! out of things is going to happen after all. Of course, the scientific community is reacting.
